Korina Davis / Violist, Violinist
Korina (Korie) Davis began playing the violin at five years old. She studied, performed and competed around the Bay Area throughout her childhood and later attended high school at Oakland School for the Arts where she continued intensive musical training and performing in classical music as well as other genres. In 2011, she began attending Fullerton College where she was concertmaster in the college symphony for 2 years. In 2013, she began attending the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, a part of California State University, Long Beach, where she currently studies violin performance. In the past few years, Korina has performed in Italy and South Korea, played on the soundtrack of the award-winning independent film "Waiting in the Wings: The Musical", and performed with the band Bastille on the Ellen deGeneres show. In Spring 2016, Korina will have earned her Bachelor's of Music degree with an emphasis in Violin Performance and will continue on to graduate school to pursue her highest level of musicianship in all genres.
Hannah Yim / Violinist
Hannah has been playing the violin since the age of six. She has studied with Yuval Yaron at the University of California, Santa Barbara and currently studies with Moni Simeonov at the Cal State University, Long Beach on scholarship. Hannah has been a featured soloist and the concertmaster for the Fullerton College Symphony Orchestra. Hannah has performed at the Segerstrom Hall, Hannah plays all genres of music including classical, jazz, and pop.
Billy Tobenkin / Cellist
Billy earned a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Cornell University. His interest in literature led him to classical music and eventually to the cello. In 2013, Billy finished his B.M. in cello performance at California State University, Northridge summa cum laude, as well as his tenure as cellist in CSUN’s Samuel Goldberg Honors String Quartet. As cellist of the genre-bending chamber music group, The Whyman Project, Billy was a winner of the 2014 Beverly Hills Auditions.Billy currently studies privately with Ronald Leonard, faculty member at the Colburn School and former principal cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Highlights in 2015 include a three-city tour with The Whyman Project at venues such as the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills as well as a performance of the Vivaldi Concerto for 2 cellos in G minor with fellow soloist Daniel Grab and the Esterhazy Chamber Orchestra of Calabasas.
